Visualizing the Top 10 Most Impactful NBA Players of All Time

Each visual represents one of the top 10 NBA players in career playoff win shares — a stat that measures individual impact on postseason success. The number of dots in each visual corresponds to that player’s total playoff win shares, while the colors reflect the teams they won championships with. This series highlights not just greatness, but sustained impact when it mattered most: the playoffs.

Example: Jerry West accumulated 26.75 career playoff win shares, represented below by 26 purple and gold (the Los Angeles Lakers' primary colors) dots.
