Freshman Joel Foxwell led the Pilots with 27 points on an efficient 11-for-18 shooting night, adding 8 assists. It marked his ninth game this season with at least 20 points and helped Portland upset Gonzaga to improve to 11–14 on the year.
For Gonzaga, Graham Ike recorded his 12th double-double of the season, finishing with 24 points on 9-for-16 shooting and 10 rebounds.
