Freshman Keaton Wagler led the Fighting Illini with 28 points on 7-for-15 shooting and 10-for-12 from the free throw line, while also dishing out 5 assists. It marked his seventh game of the season with at least 20 points and helped Illinois improve to 19–3. Wagler added 2 steals on the defensive end.
For Nebraska, Braden Frager paced the scoring with 20 points, knocking down an impressive 6-for-12 from beyond the arc. It was the second time this season Frager has connected on at least six three-pointers.
